The Malta International Piano Festival will be held during October and one of its events will be held at the Oratory of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Valletta.  This lunchtime concert, featuring the international participants of the Piano festival, will be held on the 25th of October 2016 at 12.30pm.


The goal of The Malta International Piano Festival is to provide the best learning experience for everyone by combining an intensive educational programme with an outstanding concert series presented by world-class musicians and participants of the Festival. It is undoubtedly an event in the Maltese cultural calendar, which cannot be overlooked by those interested in Music, culture or the art of piano by those who have at heart the improving of performing standards of our youth!


It is a Cultural Event founded with the intent to improve Music education of youngsters in Malta by offering high-level tuition and opportunities to perform in front of an audience.


The lunchtime concerts which are held at the Oratory every Tuesday at 12:30, are aimed at giving a platform to local and foreign artists and moreover, it gives the audience the opportunity to experience the best music of the world in the charming oratory. 


The oratory has an interesting history, since before the alterations carried out at the beginning of the 20th Century, the large chamber was used as the Refectory for the religious community. It was then transformed into an oratory, adorned by magnificent baroque paintings, a magnificent gilded altarpiece and original monks benches.


The events are fund raising events for the Franciscan Church, which is undergoing extensive structural restoration. Tickets for the lunchtime concerts, costing 8 euro, can be obtained from the venue itself 30 minutes before the concert begins. For more details phone 7968 0952 or email:
