Enjoy the warmth of the festive season with Christmas carols and the peaceful atmosphere of the Oratory of St. Francis in Valletta. Join soprano Marita Bezzina in the lunchtime concert Joy to the World on Tuesday the 27th December 2016 at 12:30pm.
Soprano Marita Bezzina, a highly-talented and well-known soprano will be singing some of the most popular and endearing carols. She will be singing Silent Night, Oh Christmas Tree, the traditional Noel, an Italian carol Gesu Bambino. She will also be singing the classical Holy Night by Adam and Holy City by Adams. The festive programme proceeds with an Italian traditional carol, Tu scendi dalle Stelle and Joy to the World. Pianist Romina Morrow will be accompanying the singer.
The venue, the baroque Oratory, was originally the friars refectory. Over the years, it had been transformed into an oratory, hence it is beautifully adorned by magnificent baroque paintings, an elaborate gilded altarpiece and monks benches. The lunchtime concerts are a wonderful way to visit and enjoy the beautiful chapel.
The events are fund raising events for the Franciscan Church, which is undergoing restoration. Tickets for the lunchtime concerts, costing 8 euro, can be obtained from the venue itself half an hour before the concert begins. For more details phone 7968 0952 or email: email@example.com
