Perfect Piano Classics
A delightful and sparkling piano concert of classic music is going to be held at the Oratory of St Francis Church of Assisi Church in Valletta on Tuesday the 14th of February 2017, at 12:30pm.
The upcoming young pianist Julia Aquilina is going to perform a delightful programme of piano works consisting of J.S. Bachs Prelude and Fugue 14 BWV 859, Mozarts Sonata in D K311 (the Allegro, Andante and Rondeau), Chopins Mazurka in C# Minor Opus 50, No. 3, Claude Debussys First Arabesque and Sergei Rachmaninoffs Prelude in G# Minor Opus 32 No. 12.
Julia Aquilina started piano lessons at the age of six under the guidance of Ms. Lina Spiteri until her sixth grade practical examination of the Associated Board of the Royal School of music (ABRSM). She then completed her seventh and eighth grade of the ABRSM under the guidance of Mrs. Janet Gauci. She has also achieved the diploma of the London College of Music (dipLCM) in 2014 and the diploma of Associate of the London College of Music (ALCM) in 2015, both in piano performance. She is currently studying for the dipABRSM.
Julia participated in several public performances around the island as well as masterclasses. Some of the concerts that she performed at include the Young Artist Series (number 4) at the Salesian Theatre and at the graduation ceremony of the London College of Music of 2015 at Palazzo De La Salle, as well as performing at a number of annual concerts. She has attended numerous masterclasses at the University of Malta with Ms. Charlene Farrugia and also attended masterclasses at the Manoel Theatre, St. James Cavalier and with Mro. Franco Fodera.
Julia is currently a fourth year medical student at the University of Malta but also aims to continue to advance in musical studies.
