Brighten up your week by attending the weekly lunchtime concerts in the charming and peaceful Oratory of St. Francis Church of Assisi in Republic Street, Valletta. Join soprano Hannah Bonnici and pianist Julia Miller who will be delighting the audience with a selection of enchanting romantic songs and arias on the 14th of March 2017.
The programme includes arias by prominent European composers. The soprano will be singing Tchaikosvksys April and two arias by the Latvian composer Jānis Mediņ. She will be also be singing a lieder song by Hugo Wolf, an Austrian composer of Slovene origin who was mostly known for his intense lieder songs.
The programme ensues with two songs by Robert Schumann Mondnacht and Er, der herrlichste von allen, followed by an aria written by Samuel Barber Sure on this shining night and Paolo Tostis April. The pianist Julia Miller will be performing Johannes Brahms Intermezzo in A op. 118 and Claude Debussy The first Arabesque.
