Baritone David Debono will be giving a sparkling performance at a lunchtime concert on Tuesday the 30th of January 2018 at the Monastery of St. Augustine in Valletta.
Baritone Variations is an eclectic and rich selection of arias and songs written by some of the worlds greatest composers. Most of the arias are renowned arias from operas such as Mozarts Le Nozze di Figaro and Cosi` Fan Tutte; Verdis Don Carlo, Bellinis I Puritani and Donizettis LElisir dAmour. Baritone Debonos repertoire will also include a lyrical lieder, F. Schuberts Erlkig and Brahms Von Ewiger Liebe. The pianist accompanying the baritone will be the accomplished pianist Irina Fedcenko-Carbonaro.
Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a free guided tour of the interesting chambers of the monastery which are adorned with beautiful and historical sacred ornaments after the concert. Proceeds from the event will go to the restoration project of the Augustinian Monastery. Tickets, costing 8 euro, can be obtained from the venue itself half an hour before the concert begins.
