Superb tenor Alan Sciberras and pianist Sofia Narmania take the stage once more at the lunchtime concert in St. Augustine Monastery on 17th April 2018 at 12 noon for another brilliant performance.
Following his outstanding success in a previous performance, Alan Sciberras has been invited to perform again for another classical music concert. In this performance, the tenor will sing excerpts of romantic operatic arias, focusing mainly on the works of the Italian composters Verdi, Puccini and Rossini. The tenor will sing excerpts from Puccinis Tosca, Turandot and La Boheme, followed by Verdis La Traviata. Furthermore, he will be singing a sacred aria from Rossinis Stabat Mater, and an aria from Cileas opera LArlesiana.
Brilliant pianist Sofia Narmania will perform a number of sparkling piano solos, namely Prelude from La Traviata and Mascagnis Intermezzo from the Cavalleria Rusticana and Chopins Berceuse Op. 57 and Etude Op. 10 No.12.
After the concert, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a free guided tour of the remarkable monastery museum which showcases its striking, historical and sacred ornaments in the fascinating monastic chambers.
