Established and award-winning singers Andriana Yordanova (soprano) and Sipan Olap enter an exciting and romantic world of captivating love songs and arias in a lunchtime concert to be held at St. Augustine Monastery in Old Bakery Street, Valletta at 12 noon.
The programme highlights delightful love songs stemming from various periods of time, spanning from the renaissance to the opera tradition and to the modern times. The repertoire includes Giordanis Caro mio ben, Monteverdis Addio Roma and Carissinis Vittoria, Vittoria.
The programme ensues with Rossinis Sallontanano alfine! Schuberts Stdchen and Gounouds air from the opera Faust. Ecco respiro appena is an opera excerpt which features from Adriana Lecouvreur, followed by the passionate and fiery Delibes Les Filles de Cadiz. The performance ends with the popular and well-loved Italian song Parlami DAmore, Mariu. the singers will be accompanied by pianist Julia Miller
A visit to the interesting chambers of the monastery which are adorned with beautiful and historical sacred ornaments, is being offered after the concert for free.
