Charming pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa is presenting fiery, passionate Spanish and Latin- America piano music at a lunchtime concert organized by Barocco Foundation at St. Augustine Monastery, Valletta on Tuesday 29th May 2018 at 12 noon.
Ms. Ramona Zammit Formosa will be performing fascinating piano music by the Catalan-born Enrique Granados whose works were composed in a uniquely Spanish style. She will be playing his Danzas Espanolas, Galante, Oriental and Rondalla Aragonesa.
Furthermore, the programme will feature the Argentinian Astor Piazzollas works. Piazzolla revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style which included elements from jazz and classical music. The concert will include his famous Oblivion, Milonga del Angel and Street Tango. In addition, the programme also features the Spanish Isaac Albenizs Sevillanas, Federico Mompaus Caciones y Danza no 6 and Cuban-born Ernesto Lecounas Malaguena.
After the concert, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a free guided tour of the remarkable monastery museum which showcases its striking, historical and sacred ornaments in the fascinating monastic chambers.
