Barocco Foundation presents superb tenor Alan Sciberras and international pianist Sofia Narmania to enter into an exciting world of captivating operatic arias in a lunchtime concert to be held at St. Augustine Monastery in Old Bakery Street, Valletta on Tuesday 22 May 2018 at 12 noon.
The concert highlights the works of the worlds foremost opera composers, namely Verdi, Rossini, Puccini and Cilea. The programme features Verdis Celeste Aida from the opera Aida, and Dei Miei Bolenti Spiriti and the Prelude from La Traviata. The programme also includes Puccinis Recondita Armonia from Tosca and Che gelida manina from La Boheme. The repertoire ensues with Cileas Lamento di Federico from LArlesiana.
Brilliant pianist Sofia Narmania will perform piano solos which include Pachelbels Canon in D major, Mascagnis Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana ,Chopins Nocturne in c sharp minor and Etude Op. 10 no. 12.
After the concert, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a free guided tour of the remarkable monastery museum which showcases its striking, historical and sacred ornaments in the fascinating monastic chambers.
