Flamenco una Forma de Vivir!
Spanish Flamenco is a passionate and emotional dance a dance characterized by clapping, stamping feet, a dance inspired by gypsies dances and which is highly associated with the Southern Spain. An event featuring flamenco dance - Flamenco Una Forma de Vivir! will take place on Tuesday 30th July 2013 at 8:30pm at Palazzo de Piro Cultural Centre Mdina. The Flamenco Dancers will be the Alegria Dance Company.
The music and the dancing will transport the audience to a magical world while the dancers clap, stamp their feet and dance to the rhythms, colours and passion of this gypsies dance. For Gitanos or gypsies, Flamenco is not only a dance, but a lifestyle. This is also true for all those who dance Flamenco. The experience of Flamenco is not only the dance moves but also the way one lives at home, the workplace, in the streets Ask any Gitanos and they will tell you that Flamenco is a way of living, of breathing and of looking at situations around you! In this evening, the Alegria Dance Company will live their experiences with Flamenco by means of the various rhythms and moods in this passionate and emotional form of dance.
Alegria is a company of fine dancers who have dedicated their time and energy to an art form they love. Alegria is a Flamenco Dance Company who enjoys all forms of dance. Besides presenting full scale productions, Alegria Dance Company is frequently invited to perform in Theatre, Gala, Cabaret and festivals, television and film and have a prolific repertoire earning then an esteemed reputation in the arts. The dancers individually tour abroad to perform in festivals and private functions and to study with notable maestros of Flamenco dance.
The event will be organized by Barocco Foundation with the collaboration of Palazzo de Piro. A selection of tapas and Spanish wines can be ordered on site before and during the intervals of the show to complete this Spanish evening. Food is not included in the performance ticket.
