Enjoy forty minutes of enchanting classical music at the charming 17th century Oratory of St. Francis in Republic Street, Valletta! These increasingly popular lunchtime concerts are held every Tuesday and Friday at 12:30 pm and these performances present some of the best talents to be found in Malta. The performers and programmes are always varied from one event to another.
The baroque Oratory, which hosts the performances, is an exquisite venue which complements the fine music. The events are also fund raising events for the Franciscan Church. Sacred Arias for Lent
Tenor Anthony Montebello will be singing sacred and profound arias which have been carefully selected for this particular time of the year.
The programme will feature arias from Messa da Requiem by Giacomo Puccini and Antonio Nani and Giacomo Puccinis Messa di Gloria. The programme will also feature Handels My Father look upon my anguish and Felix Mendelssohns O God have mercy amongst others.
The tenor will be accompanied by Ramona Zammit Formosa.
