Lunchtime Concerts at the Oratory of St. Francis


Enjoy the exclusivity of the exquisite Oratory of the St. Francis Church in Republic Street in Valletta. Presently, it is hosting weekly music recitals every Tuesday at  12:30 pm, showcasing some of the best musicians performing on the island.  The recitals usually last about 50 minute and are fund raising events in aid of St. Francis Church.

 The Young Beethoven -  String Trio


Beethoven was born 1770 in Bonn/Germany. All of his compositions for Chamber Music for two and three instruments originated before 1798. His works for the String Trio forms the most significant body of works in this entire genre, in quantity and quality. The lunchtime concerts programme will focus all the parts of the Trios op3 which were composed still in the tradition of the Divertimento genre of the time: high quality music for entertainment. It will be performed by The String Trio of the Malta University, School of Performing Arts.


The trio was established in 2009 and it is formed by David Ellul, Violin;  Joseph Mallia, Viola;  Anna Dubinnaya, Violoncello and tutored by Dr. Hans- Jgen Nagel.
